Summary

This project aims to enhance sustainable use of mangrove forests and its protection. It is important to create harmony between environmental conservation and socio-economic development by giving importance on their locality.

List of activities

  • Development of the guidelines, the action plans and the network among local community (such as fishermen) in the Sundarbans.
  • Biodiversity education for the conservation of 5,000 mangrove trees along the coast of the Sundarbans.
  • Livelihood programs to revive traditional skills of mangrove shrimp (khoti) drying and marketing of the products to 100 fishermen.
