Situated in Matale District. This locality is rich with Nature and Biodiversity. It is surrounded by Dumbara Valley and Wasgamuwa Forest.
- Background/Problems of the project

1. This is an important to Sri Lanka as well as to the World.
2. It has all the climatic conditions
3. It is rich with natural resources
4. Environmental conservation is not up to the mark forest is being destroyed for different purposes.
The state should pay its attention to this.
This is needed to protect for the future generation, Government alone cannot conserve the Forest.
- Objectives/Significance of the project

Hope to acknowledge the children of the area make them understand how to protect these natural resources.
Hope to organize seminars project, conferences.
- Description of the project

1. Recognized 100 schools for this project
2. Organized environmental committees. Informed necessary things. Helped them to prepare an annual report. School children and outsiders are instructed to conserve and protect the environment published research papers on forestry.

Time Plan:(i) January, February - Introduction Teacher training Programme(ii) March - Organizing the Committees (iii) May - Conferences and Seminars (iv) June - Celebrating the World Environmental Day and other activities. (v) July - Tour to explore the environment (vi) August - District environmental camp (vii) Septembr, October - Community base activities (viii) November, December - Evaluation, prize giving enrolment of new members

(1) 1000 environmental committees were established.
(2) Organized two environmental camps
(3) About 500 seminars were held all were succeeded
(4) Environment dy was held on 05th of June is a grand scale
Weaknesses:
(1) Money provided is not enough
(2) A programme should be organized in a better way.
(3) It should be continued regularly.

(1) Make the childrens understand the value of the environment
(2) This should be included to the school curriculum
(3) Seminars and conferences should be organized throughout the year
