Introduction of the Organization
Objective:
LEAD's mission is to create and sustain a global network of leaders who are committed to promote change toward patterns of economic development that are environmentally sustainable and socially equitable.

LEAD creates this network of leaders through the Leadership Development Program. Every other year, promising young mid-career professionals are selected from the government, NGO, business, industry, media, and academic sectors, through a competitive process that assesses their potential for leadership and commitment to the LEAD cause.

Spanning 18 months and including 50 days of training, the Associate Training Program provides Associates the latest knowledge regarding the environment and development: hones their leadership skills for more effective performance in their professional lives: encourages them to work with tolerance and regard for other cultures and disciplines and exposes them to the national and international LEAD network, enabling them to forge partnerships with other development professionals worldwide.
