- Objective:
- The Center for Supporting Children's Waterside Activities was established in July 2002 under the joint program of local inhabitants, educational staff and related local administrative bodies, amid the advancement of children's isolated living from nature, to more utilize a waterside for studying and experiencing nature in order to regain the bustle of children by the water.
The Support Center assists the activities of Citizenユs groups or school teachers' groups through a variety of supports for making children's plays and study more in safe and full.

Title Place Operational features The Re-discovery Project of Children in the Waterside To promote utilization of rivers and watersides by children, rich and long experienced groups of people including those who know the river most and some basic equipment and facilities such as first aid setups, life preservers, etc. are required. Also a supporting setup for the activity is definitely necessary. To sustain the activity, a close cooperation and coordination among local groups including exchange of information, manpower and know-how is essential.
For these reasons, the Rediscovery Project of Children in Waterside recommends each group of participants including administrations, citizens' groups, etc. to work together. The Center for Supporting Children's Waterside Activities works as a vehicle to carry a variety of information and equipment such as general information about the rivers and watersides thereof, general ideas which are considered useful for the activities, lending safety gadgets such as life jackets, and the like.
The target of the project is to make children grow vigorously through providing a variety of planning whereby they can learn enough about the local peculiarity.
